Wood new second vice president
Chambers County Commissioner Debbie Wood was elected Second Vice President during the ACCA Convention last week. She joins DeKalb County Commission President Ricky Harcrow, First Vice President, and Choate as the ACCA’s officer team for the 2011-12 year.
Finalizing safety program
The Association’s insurance funds will officially announce a new safety program in December. Designed to help reduce injuries and incidents giving rise to lawsuits against counties, the program will encourage county officials and employees to take an active role at the local level. Details will be provided in December.
Commission begins work
The Constitutional Revision Commission created by the Alabama Legislature this year will get to work at its first meeting Aug. 31.
