2011-2012 Public Works and Rural Transportation Steering Committee
The Public Works and Rural Transportation Steering Committee is one of five legislative steering committees. The committee reviews and evaluates a wide range of issues related to the court system, county jails, as well as state correctional facilities, programs and policies. The committee considers state and local public safety issues, including legislation and policy impacting 9-1-1 programs and county emergency management. The recommendations of the committee are forwarded to the Association's Board of Directors and ultimately included in the Association's legislative package.
These committee members volunteer many hours of time toward the Association's legislative package to ensure solid measures will be taken to protect county interests to the best of the Association's abilities during the upcoming Regular Session of the Alabama Legislature.
